Helping autistic preschool children with literacy

The AppLINOU+ project

Recent studies have shown that using tablets with autistic children develops focus and motivation. By customising learning processes thanks to immediate feedback and adapted software (slowing down sound and images), challenging behaviours decrease and school results get better, leading them towards greater social interactions, and increased autonomy.

The AppLINOU+ research project aims to adapt the AppLINOU app (developed by the LINUMEN project) for autistic preschool children.

The goals of this project

The AppLINOU+ research project aims to create a digital app to help autistic children acquire maths and French skills to make their entry to elementary school easier, which is a crucial educational step. It also aims to confirm that using a tablet can help autistic children to develop social skills by stimulating social interactions and cooperation with others.
